The Swarm is the daily bread and butter for many Star Trek Fleet Command players. 

We have Swarm dailies, which are essential to get Frequency Modulators for upgrading your USS Franklin ship. In addition to those dailies, farming Swarm biominerals are always handy for storing resources you retain even if your base gets raided. 

Besides, there are many events involving hunting Swarm hostiles, so if you want to be on the top of leaderboard events, you better have a good crew that makes you more efficient when hunting Swarm hostiles.

This guide will cover officers and crew combinations to boost your combat against Swarm clusters. Regardless of your ship, these officers would still be good, but keep in mind using some ships will be more effective than others.

What makes an officer good in fighting Swarm clusters

One of the things we consider most important is to have officers who can decrease their damage or increase our defenses.&nbsp;

Swarm weapons are very fast, and they will hit us several times in each round. If we can mitigate that damage, it would make us endure more combats before going to base for repairs.

So having this in mind, we will look for officers with abilities that make us endure more or give us advantages in PVE.

Decrease of Kinetic damage because Swarm clusters deal kinetic damage.

Mitigation of damage when fighting Hostiles.

Increase health, shield, and other defensive stats.

If you are below level 25, we assume that you may not have unlocked many epic or rare officers. So you may not be able to get the best Swarm crew.&nbsp;

Luckily the following crews will help you in your battles against the Swarm. Besides, these crews are also effective in PVE when fighting other hostiles.&nbsp;

Increases effectiveness of Captain Maneuver by 4%

Decreases opponent's damage by 10%

Increases the Shield Health of the ship by 5%

Kinetic opponent's damage is reduced by 5%

Increases all Mitigation stats against non-player targets by 20%

When fighting Hostiles, restores Shield Health each round equal to&nbsp;200%&nbsp;of the Health of all Officers on the ship.

When fighting Hostiles, increases Armor, Shield Deflection, and Dodge by&nbsp;150%&nbsp;of the Defense of all Officers on the ship.

The following crews are not sorted by any order, we provide several crews that are effective against the Swarm, but it's up to you to decide what's best for you, depending on what officers you own.

For example, if you don't have Jaylah or a Franklin ship, those crews wouldn't make sense for you. However, even if you have Jaylah but have other officers with higher-tier promotions, maybe that's a better option for you.

This crew it's even more powerful because of the Shakedown Cruise synergy that Marlena Moreau and Pike share, they get +40% of effectiveness in their abilities.

Decreases the Armor Piercing, Shield Piercing and Accuracy of Hostiles by 30%

Increases the effectiveness of all Officer Abilities that trigger in combat by&nbsp;40%

Increases the Ship XP earned by 20%

Increases the Health of every Officer on the ship by 60%

Increases the Shield deflection, Armor and Dodge by 200% of the total Health of all officers on the ship

Increases the amount of resources dropped from hostiles by 20%

When Jaylah is on the Franklin and fighting Swarm hostiles, Jaylah increases the number of shots of the ship by 1 (each round)

Franklin Crew for farming Frequency Modulators

Increases the amount of resources you get from killing hostiles by 100% while on the Franklin

Lower deck abilities are a great addition to any crew mentioned in this guide. If you own any of the following officers, don't hesitate to add them to your lower ship deck.

Increases Armor, Shield Deflection, and Dodge by 50%

Increases the ship's Shield Health by 50%

Increases the ship's Hull Health by 75%

Increases the ship's Weapon Damage by 70%

Defensive crews with stats mitigation do very well against the Swarm. You can still make it with common officers if you are a beginner. As soon as you unlock other rare and epic officers, you can upgrade your swarm crew to be even more destructive. 

T'Laan is an essential officer to have, not only for fighting Swarm hostiles but also other hostiles. Be sure to promote her as you get more shards.

Star Trek Fleet Command: Swarm Crew (UPDATED 2022)

Stark Trek Fleet Command is a vast game, with many game mechanics and things you must learn over time. If you are just starting and feeling lost, you came to the right place. This guide will cover many of the essential things that the game doesn't tell you, which will help you progress and get better at the game.&nbsp;

Log in every day into the game, and doing most of the daily chores is what could push you ahead in Star Trek Fleet Command.&nbsp;

Starting from events, these will allow you to unlock rare ships over time that you wouldn't be able to get without paying. Some events can give you considerable resources or rare/epic officers shards that are also hard to get otherwise.&nbsp;

Be sure to check the daily events and complete them whenever you see they are worth your time, and be ok letting them go if the reward is not worth much.

There may also be Battle pass events every month, which you can level up by completing related daily events. Pay special attention to these because they always give great rewards.

Daily goals are less important below level 10, but they will become more significant as you level up. However, we recommend checking these every day, as they can give essential materials, and most of these are not hard to complete.

You can find daily goals on the Missions page, accessible by pressing the exclamation button in the screen's left bottom corner. When you are on the Missions page, there are three tabs at the top, and one of them will show your daily goals.

Officers will give a massive advantage in the game. They are hard to unlock, especially the good ones. But you must always keep track of the best officers you have and assign them to your best ships.

Officers are so relevant in this game because of their skills. You may have noticed that officers have two abilities. One gets active when you assign the officer as the ship's captain, while the other skill gets active if you assign the officer to the ship's bridge (meaning the top three officers of a ship)

Keeping this in mind, think of those skills that grant you more ship health or reduce the opponent's damage by 10%. That means you could fight ships of higher power than yours, but you'll be able to defeat them because you'll endure 10% more damage.&nbsp;

Those are the officers and the kind of skills you want to have active onboard your ship.&nbsp;

Getting recruit tokens is hard, and even if you have many of them, you still need to pull out the same officer shard several times to unlock the officer. So keep in mind that getting the best crew will take time and patience.&nbsp;

However, we have some tips for you that will help you unlock officers fast at low levels.

Complete "Combat Training" missions. These assignments are picked up automatically in your missions log, you will get the first one at level one, and every time you complete these missions, you will get the next one. Completing these missions only takes defeating hostiles, and they will reward you with many recruit tokens.&nbsp;

Unlock faction recruit tokens. Do missions for a faction until the faction tolerates you, and you will unlock rewards in exchange for faction tokens (that you get by doing daily goals, events, and missions). At low levels, always use these tokens in exchange for the faction recruit rewards. That would help you unlock rare and epic officers faster.&nbsp;

The syndicate is an affiliation that will grant you significant rewards that you cannot get otherwise, such as permanent mining and combat buffs, resource efficiency, and even officers shards at higher levels.

The game somehow doesn't explain this well enough, and it's easy not to realize this feature for some time. However, increasing your reputation with this faction takes time as you can only level it up once every day. So the earlier you start doing this, the better.&nbsp;

You can find the syndicate icon on the top-left corner of the screen, next to your Latinum balance. Visit this page and get your daily chest every day.

You will be able to send your officers in Away teams missions by getting the Shuttle Bay building, which you can unlock as part of research in the R&amp;D Department building.&nbsp;

You will get new assignments in this building every 8 to 12 hours. It's important to send any spare officer to these missions every day. These will grant you many scarce materials, such as Officer XP, mining materials, and Away Credits which you can use later on for unlocking ships, among other things.&nbsp;

Alliance can help you progress faster, especially if you are in a good one. Don't worry too much about these if you are below level 20, but at least get sure to enter an active Alliance because they can send you help every time you build something, which can speed up the process.&nbsp;

When you are level 20, it is even more important to be in an active Alliance that helps you do Armadas, as it is the only way to unlock the Armada Center for free.&nbsp;

Where to find swarm ships in Star Trek Fleet Command

Swarm ships are one of the several hostiles ships patrolling the vast space in Star Trek Fleet Command. They are always found in independent systems that are cluttered with cosmic dust (as you can see in the screenshot below)

Swarm ships are always grouped by clusters, and that's why a swarm ship has more strength than a common hostile of the same level. If you cannot defeat them, we'll give you some advice to help you understand how to efficiently hunt swarm ships.

Starting from the basics, all swarm clusters within the game are&nbsp;Scout ships. While having this in mind, there are several flaws against Scout ships that we can use to our advantage.

The first and most obvious would be using an&nbsp;Explorer ship&nbsp;since they are stronger when fighting against Scouts. But you might still be below the required strength to face your opponent. Besides, you may have another stronger type of ship, which would also suffice.

So what can you do if you are still having trouble defeating swarm clusters?. You must take full advantage of the officers that you have available.

As you may know, every officer has 2 abilities. These abilities are only enabled when the officer is assigned as a ship's captain or as part of the ship's bridge.&nbsp;

There are many officers whose abilities will put you at a significant advantage in PVE combat. In addition, some officers have good skills against Swarm ships.&nbsp;

Once you reach level 15 of Operations in your base, you'll unlock daily missions that involve defeating Swarm clusters. Every day there are 3 missions available, one requires defeating 50 of them, and the other requires defeating stronger Swarm ships. However, the requirements will change as you upgrade your operations building. So some of these dailies will get harder and harder.

By defeating Swarm ships or completing the daily missions, you will mainly acquire Swarm Biominerals and Frequency Modulators.

Swarm Biominerals can be used in the Refinery in exchange for other materials such as Parsteel, Tritanium, or Dilithium.

Frequency Modulators are required to upgrade ships like USS Franklin, a ship built specifically for hunting Swarm ships.

There are many cliffs in Tribes Of Midgard, and you may come across several of them. You might be wondering how to get up since there may be precious goods on top of a cliff from time to time. Perhaps a cliff is stopping your from reaching your destination. No worries, in this guide we'll explain you how to climb cliffs in Tribes of Midgard.

Your character can't just walk up a cliff and reach the top, there are no specific skills for that. However, you can build ramps to be able to reach the top of a cliff, which is at the moment the only way to get on the top of a cliff.

How do you build ramps then? First, you'll need to craft them at the Tinker, and once you have ramps in your inventory, you can place them when using the construction mode.

You can find&nbsp;Eyrun the Tinker&nbsp;at the west of your village, right next to the west gate. When talking to her, you'll find the ramps at the construction tab. There are 3 levels of ramps, the higher the level the more damage it could take from enemies, but that's not important when you are using these ramps for exploration. So crafting several Level 1 Ramps will be more efficient.

Once you have ramps in your inventory, placing them is very easy. When you are in construction mode, you can select what to build from construction item that you have in your inventory. Select the ramps, and build one after another until you reach the top of the cliff.

It takes a bit of practice to build ramps, you need to get sure that the ramp ends at the top or over the top of the cliff and it doesn't get obstructer by the edge of the cliff. Otherwise you'll have to do another ramp. Sadly you cannot retry the construction, you can destroy the ramp by attacking it and you'll get some materials back but not the ramp.

When to use ramps and how to get the most out of it

There are a few things to take into account when using ramps for climbing cliffs. Sometimes it may not be worthy, if the purpose is just to get a mineral or one resource that you see on top. Here are some suggestions for when to use the ramps and get the most out of it.

Always use ramps for getting to Ruins, you can see these on the map and the only way you can get to them is by building ramps, because they are always located on top of cliffs. Ruins always contain a chest with valuable items, so definitely this would be a good use for your ramps.

Use ramps if you are trying to get get to an area that is elevated but not easily accessible. For example, you'll find that sometimes the Smoky Highlands or the Glacier Peaks could be elevated and not easily accessible, this could be a good use for you ramps.

When playing in co-op, defeating a Linnorm can be quite easy, as the creature will mostly focus on one player, this leads to a good opportunity for other players to attack the beast from its back.

Take advantage of elemental weapons, the White Troll is weak to Ice while the Blue Troll is weak to Dark damage. If you face them with the right elemental weapon, you'll make a large amount of damage and it'll be much easier to defeat them.

You definitely would want to defend well yourself, a good armor and shield may help from preventing damage but after a few hits you would probably run out of potions. So you'll be more successful rolling away of him whenever he's charging his next attack and then hit him a couple of times before rolling away again.

The witch is weak to thunder damage, so if you are playing with one of these weapons, the battle will become quite easy for you. However, this is not required; a simple weapon will also do the job.

Besides the equipment, you must carry with you at least a couple of healing potions, because the witch is surrounded by many Dokkalfar warriors and she will be summoning even more during the fight, so you are likely to take many hits.

The best strategy is to defeat the Dokkalfar warriors and archers first, then attack the witch until she summon other warriors. Keep getting rid off the warriors, and repeat this process until you beat her.

A good strategy for surviving during that event is to&nbsp;defeat the Jotun before it approaches your village. Therefore, we advice to face the Jotun the day before the Blood Moon, that would be every three days in-game. If you manage to do that, you can focus on fighting the hordes of Helthings during the Blood Moon, which is a situation much easier to overcome.

Keep in mind, that you should also follow this advice when playing co-op. The strength of enemies will increase with the number players in a game so make sure everyone stays within village helping cover every gate during the Blood Moon!

When playing in solo mode, it’s important to improve the gates of your village. As a result, the gates will endure longer and you can keep them closed while defending other gates. Improving other defenses such as the towers is always helpful, but you should always prioritize the gates.
